What is IV Nutrient Therapy?

IV nutrient therapy is the process of giving vital nutrients to the body via the bloodstream by accessing the vein with a small needle. Treatments range from a 10 minute push to a 3 hour drip depending on what is being given. IV nutrient therapy is a way of getting vitamins, amino acids, minerals and other nutrients into the bloodstream quickly. It takes no work on the part of the digestive system. This is a great benefit for those who have digestive issues or who cannot tolerate oral supplementation. There are also times when the body is so deficient that oral supplementation is not enough. How does it work?

Often depression, anxiety, insomnia chronic fatigue syndrome and other neurological disorders are helped greatly by the nutrients in the Meyer's Cocktail. IV VITAMIN C

High dose IV Vitamin C can be an important adjunctive therapy in treating cancer. Numerous studies have shown that Vitamin C at very high doses intravenously acts as a chemotherapeutic agent specific to cancer cells and not to normal healthy cells. IV Vitamin C can also be used as a powerful agent in treating infections and boosting the immune system. Screening for G6PD deficiency is required before treatment. The vitamin C used is non-corn/GMO based.

GLUTATHIONE/ PHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE

Glutathione is the most powerful detoxifier and antioxidant produced by the liver. With repeated inflammation, liver conditions, or environmental stress it can easily become depleted. Research has shown that one of the best methods for bioavailability is by intravenous administration. Glutathione can be combined with Phosphatidylcholine, which potentiates the antioxidant effect of both agents. This combined treatment is commonly used for Hepatitis C and neurologic conditions.

CHELATION THERAPY

Chelation therapy uses substances that bind to and eliminate toxic metals from the body. The most common metals are lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium. The ill effects of heavy metals are numerous, but include conditions such as auto-immunity, thyroid and endocrine disorders, cardiovascular dysfunction, chronic fatigue, poor immune function, poor memory, and environmental sensitivity. Determining the level of heavy metals in the body typically requires a urine test to measure your degree of heavy metal burden. Depending on the type of metals detected, chelation can be done using the appropriate IV or oral chelating agent. Intravenous chelation therapy can remove the atherosclerotic plaque and restore normal vascular function.

ARE THERE ANY COMPLICATIONS FROM IV THERAPY?

Local complications and more systemic complications can occur. Local complications such as pain at the site of injection can occur as well as swelling of the area if the IV fluid has leaked into the surrounding injection site tissue. Bruising can occur at the site of injection. Occasionally, a vein may become irritated or inflamed. This is called phlebitis. Most other local complications will resolve with very little intervention.

Systemic complications include anaphylactic allergy to a substance, vasovagal response (fainting spells), systemic infections, and increase stress on heart and kidneys if there is a previous history of kidney or heart conditions. Generally, IV nutrition therapy is well tolerated with minimum occurrences of complications.

Low Dose Allergy therapy (LDA)  is a treatment for “turning off” an overactive immune system. This applies to allergies, autoimmune diseases or any process in which the immune system is activated.  LDA involves getting an injection in the office every 2 months, eventually being able to spread the injections out to once or twice per year.  LDA is different because is uses much lower concentrations of allergens and may be used to treat not only inhalant allergies, but also allergies to foods, chemicals and certain autoimmune or overactive immune conditions.

HCG was first used for weight loss about sixty years ago after being discovered by British physician Dr. Simeon.  There are numerous modifications around, and it has been used in the US for about 30 years.

The diet program consists of a very specific list of foods combined with the daily administration of HCG.  The weight loss occurs due to calorie restriction. The hormone seems to allow the hypothalamus (control center) in the brain easier access to control the breakdown of abnormal fat reserves (like hips, buttocks, abdomen) leading to a quick reduction of fat in these areas.
